Meet Yael E. Saidoff, LMFT 129097

Our experiences shape who we are.We can choose who we become.

Life is dynamic. We grow, adapt, and evolve. Yet the beliefs and behaviors we develop along the way can become fixed. What once protected us may now restrict us. What once helped us survive may prevent us from flourishing.

We cannot change our histories.
We can change our relationship to them.

Psychotherapy offers a means of understanding the forces that shape us and loosening the hold of those that no longer serve us. Insight illuminates the path. Change requires us to walk it.

Knowing why we are as we are
is not the same as knowing how to be otherwise.

My approach combines a deep appreciation for the complexity of human experience with rigorous, evidence-based treatment. I specialize in OCD, anxiety disorders, and related difficulties, while also helping individuals and couples navigate the challenges of relationships, identity, and personal growth.

Greater freedom comes when old patterns no longer dictate our choices.

Understanding the Mind. Expanding What's Possible.

Thoughtful, evidence-based psychotherapy for OCD, anxiety, and the emotional complexities of everyday life.

Why Psychotherapy

Areas of Specialization

Psychological suffering takes many forms. Effective treatment begins with understanding not only the symptoms we experience, but the processes that sustain them. Each challenge calls for an approach informed by clinical evidence, individual circumstances, and the complexity of human experience.

OCD can turn the search for certainty into an endless cycle of doubt and reassurance. Evidence-based treatment, including ERP, helps loosen the hold of compulsions and restore greater freedom of choice.

Anxiety can persuade us that avoiding discomfort is the surest path to safety. Treatment helps interrupt that cycle and strengthen our capacity to face uncertainty.

Depression can diminish our capacity for pleasure, connection, and hope. It can leave us feeling estranged from ourselves and the lives we once found meaningful. Therapy helps uncover the patterns that sustain our suffering and restore our capacity for engagement, vitality, and change.

Our closest relationships can reveal both our deepest vulnerabilities and our greatest capacities for growth. Therapy helps couples understand recurring conflicts and develop more constructive ways of relating.

Life Transitions & Loss

Change can unsettle our most familiar assumptions about ourselves and our lives. Psychotherapy offers support in navigating loss, uncertainty, and the demands of an unfamiliar future.

Testimonials

The most spiritually significant experience I had... was during my time with [...]Yael Saidoff.  Specifically her instructions led me to confront the question that constantly arises for me: "What do you want?" I discovered a place of absolutely honesty deep within my heart, that answered, "Intimacy".
